Tea, tea, coconut water, and more tea!

In the spirit of good health and a spare Sunday afternoon, I'm trying out a recipe for an all-natural energy drink to replace the Monster in my latest daily routine. Coffee used to do it for me, but I have found that it makes me severely dehydrated..not okay. especially at these high altitudes.

Here's what I'm testing out:

(My measurements are VERY precise, as always.) Boiled a pot of water and steeped a bag of yerba mate tea along with a bag of green/white tea (with caffeine..of course) and a bag of raspberry peach elderberry/hibiscus tea for some extra flavor.

I'll combine this with an equal amount of pomegranate flavored coconut water and pour it over ice in the morning! Can't wait to try it! Smells like heaven..
The green, white, and yerba mate teas contain a small dose of caffeine along with a diverse mixture of powerful antioxidants and synergistic phytochemicals.
Plus, the coconut water is a rich source of electrolytes and a diversity of vitamins and minerals.
Coconut water is known to provide a good instant energy source, and also contains a small dose of medium chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are healthy fats that are readily used for energy and also aid your immune system.

Music to lighten the mood:

If you have not seen this video, I highly recommend that you watch it..especially if you love the piano as much as I do. For some reason, this song gets to me and I haven't been able to listen to much else this week. Granted, it has been an impossibly hard week and I usually turn to music to pick me up. After the death of someone who has deeply impacted my life in such a positive way, along with a tough breakup, the best I can do is pretend I have musical talent and belt this out while driving to work in the morning. Try it. It feels great.

Country music? What is happening??

I have been on a huge country music kick for the past 3 days.. I don't understand it and I'm a little scared. I've never liked country. At all. I have a decent amount on iTunes thanks to my sister in southern Illinois and it randomly pops up, so I suppose it's not exactly my fault. But then on Monday night, I made a country sleep PLAYLIST! I don't know why this is happening to me.
Anyway, this post was slightly pointless and I have to dig my car out to get to work now! Later!
Ha, now and later.
